European Investor Services:

The European Investor Services Team liaises directly with clients to ensure their portfolios are correctly set up to support investment activity in the 102 global markets where The Bank of New York Mellon is active.

The team works with UK clients already being serviced out of Manchester (including The Capita Group, Royal Bank of Scotland Trustees and Baillie Gifford) and Continental European clients and client alliances (including the ING, Nordea, Natexis and BHF alliances).

It also works with Continental European banks (including Abanka, Capitalia, Bank Gutman and Credit Agricole) and Middle Eastern clients such as ADIA.

European Investor Services consists of Support, Fee Billing and Control Teams and performs multiple functions within Investor Services.

  • The Support Team offers direct client-facing services to over 300 global custody clients (located in the UK, Continental Europe and the Middle East and Africa), and provides support around static data set-ups.
  • The Fee Billing Team supports Relationship Managers by resolving any issues which prevent clients paying fees for custody services.

This requires direct liaison with both Relationship Managers and clients, sometimes in quite challenging circumstances, in order to ascertain and resolve the reasons for non-payments.

  • The Control Team provides administrative and control services to London Client Services around several key operational functions including intra-day credit control, exception reporting around unit trust breaks, overdrafts and value date mismatches. This team also builds and delivers ad-hoc performance data reporting for both senior management and clients.

In order to resolve client queries the teams liaise with multiple product and system areas and it is necessary to know the underlying functionality which drives the invoicing of The Bank of New York Mellon’s custody-related products.

European language skills are also an essential element for a number of the positions available within European Investor Services.
